Walchensee, August 13th to 15th: The German Open is the annual highlight in our race calendar. First time the German Open is in Bavaria and the south of Germany for easier participation of our Seascape friends in Slovenia, Austria, Italy, Swiss and Czech. We will enjoy Seascape races in a beautiful landscape, made for holiday too (see picture above and below). Many thanks to the „Segelclub Walchensee“ for hosting!

Scheduled time to leave the harbour for 1. race: 13.08.2016, 11:30 am.
All other appointments will be announced in time.
Scoring
The Low Point System of RRS Appendix A will apply. In case that 6 to 8 races are completed, the worst score will be cancelled. In case of 9 or more races are completed, the two worst scores will be cancelled.
Speed-Challenge (SC)
The evaluation of the SC will be conducted by the class association according to the applicable rules and standards. The SC will be scored as single race. Only tracks made between 13.08.2016 12:00 and the end of the last race on 15.08.2016 are eligible for rankings. During storm warning no SC is allowed. The race committee reserves the right to restrict the period for SC.
Eligibility
International open for all boats of the Seascape 18 Class, registered in the register of yachts in a club affiliated to the ISAF and can provide a valid measurement certificate.
All competitors shall be members of their National Authority or one of its affiliated organizations and shall either have a valid driving license of the DSV or an adequate driving license of their national authority.

Early Bird 2 man team: 110,-€ (ONLY when transfer to the bank account
Early Bird 3 man team: 130,-€ is made before the entry closing date)
Regular 2 / 3 man team: 130,- / 160,-€ (registration or payment after entry closing date)
The entry fee is to transfer to the bank account stated below or can be paid cash during the registration. The entry fee shall be paid after entering, even if the entry is cancelled later on or the boat does not show up.

Rules
Races will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS). The racing prescriptions (WO) and the Addenda to the RRS of the DSV apply.
In case of a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence. In the prescriptions of the DSV the German text will take precedence.
Disclaimer Of Liability, Insurance, Safety
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. Every competitor shall sign the Disclaimer Of Liability before leaving the harbour for the first race. Otherwise there will be no scoring for all defaulting competitors. If a competitor is less than 18 years old, the signature of a parent is required. Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 1,5 Mio. € per event or the equivalent.
Each boat has to carry adequate personal flotation devices for each competitor aboard.
We advise each competitor to carry distress signals.
Registration And Sailing Instructions
Registration has to be made at the race office. The Sailing Instructions are available at the registration. The race office is open from 10 am on the first day of racing.
Competitors without an adequate registration before leaving the harbor to the first race are not allowed to compete.
The Race Committee reserves the right to change the Program and the Sailing Instructions and to communicate the changes by the use of the bulletin board.

Parking
Charged parking at car park Herzogstandbahn opposite the SCLW. Due to lack of space parking at the property of the SCLW is not allowed.
Events
Evening event on Saturday, 13.08.2016
Prize Giving Ceremony approx. 30 minutes after the end of the last race.
Special Reverences
The Walchensee and all the shore area is a conservation area. It’s prohibited to enter the island Sassau in the middle of the lake. In general we request each competitor for a special kind of tidiness. Camping at lake Walchensee is only allowed at designated areas. It is forbidden to camp on and around the club.
